Tuesday, July 17th - Into Kansas City
After a Cracker Barrel breakfast, we drove to Lawrence, Kansas, home to the University of Kansas. Julie and Steve's son, Shay, and two friends, Chris and Clyde, own a home design business in downtown Lawrence, www.eangee.com. Shay was not there but we did get to visit with Chris. What a fine young man!
Then we finished our drive to Kansas City. We drove directly to the Elks Club in southern KC, MO. Unfortunately, their two RV spots had only 20 amp electrical service. That would be OK in spring, fall and, usually winter. However, in this heat (96 degrees) we need BOTH airconditioning units to function at FULL power. That requires 50 amp electrical. So, we called the Elks Club in Grandview, MO, our original destination. Also 20 amp. Therefore, we have come to Lake Jacomo Park in Blue Springs, Missouri, further away from family than the Elks Clubs but still workable.
Lake Jacomo Park is very clean, grassy with about 60 sites. We have a very spacious corner site with full hook-ups AND 50 AMP service!. I my final Gypsy poop walk (not "perp walk") we saw 13 deer and lightning bugs.
